| Once my sketch was transferred to my watercolor paper using a copy projector the fun began. I always start with my lightest lights. This gives me a road map on where not to paint into with my mid-tones and darks. Preserving the lightest lights and the white of the paper for the brightest areas is very key for impact and to get your range of lights and darks. I referred constantly back to my sketch which has the value plan already laid out. The warm areas are done using burnt sienna, quinacridone gold and cool areas are cobalt blue and a bit of burnt sienna. |
